Wikileaks - New Buzz word....

Its everywhere now..... talk about internet and it pops -up.... just a heads up about it...(from Wikipedia..)

WikiLeaks is an international new media non-profit organisation that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press. Within a year of its launch, the site claimed a database that had grown to more than 1.2 million documents. The organisation has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the United States, Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. The Guardian newspaper describes Julian Assange, an Australian Internet activist, as its director.

Meaning of the words in Fang language:
# Tsaminamina means Come.
# Waka waka means Do it – as in perform a task. Waka is pidgin language meaning walk while working.
# Tsaminamina zangalewa means where do you come from?.
# Wana means it is mine.
# Zambo means wait.

Dumping waste.... Polluting Environment...

An empty plot near Hotel Viva Inn at Chandani chowk Pune (near my society in Bavdhan ) has been converted to a dumping ground by the owner itself... Different types of waste materials including hazardous industrial waste is being dumped and burned. The plot is kept barren (even if it requires burning some vegetation periodically..) I am not sure if PMC or any other organisation is aware of these activities....!!! Is someone listening???

Maut tu ek kavita hai…

A nice and philosophical poem from Anand Movie.....

Maut tu ek kavita hai ..
mujhase ek kavita ka vaadaa hai milegi mujhako ..

dubati nabzon mein jab dard ko neend aane lage
zard saa cheharaa liye chaand ufak tak pahunche

------------
O death! You’re like poetry
And I’ve been promised by a poem, that it shall be mine
As the pulse (of life) recedes, the pain & suffering go to (an eternal) sleep
And a yellowish (young) moon starts to rise and reach its zenith
The day is yet to sink in water, as the night waits, nigh, to the shore
It’s not dark, it’s not bright
it’s neither midnight nor high noon
And as the body loses material, the free soul gets seeped with (fresh) air
The poem has (fulfilled the) promise of being mine!

Change the way you think about driving

Looking at the current traffic situation in Pune , my feeling is that there is a need to have some checks on how everyone is getiing the driving licences and if they really know the meaning of "driving a vehicle".
The way some motorist drive vehicles(Specially two wheelers, it looks more like racing/flying then plain simple driving)
Earlier I thought that overtaking from left is actually because the roads are really narrow and in case you are overtaking from right the vehicle from other side may hit you (Even I came across this situation many times...) Then came the real eye-opener... when driving on a wide (real wide) road and having plenty of space on my right, I was overtaken by some bikers, i knew its not a limitation but rules are slightly different here.... :-)
The incidences are many and it may feel comical but in the end there is really a need for education.

I am aware that these so called "educated adults" can not be tought for these lessons and even if you teach them "its difficult to improve a perfectionist" (as the saying goes..)

The real and one practical solution is to provide this education in schools (primary and secondary levels). By having a curriculam/subject/class for the driving/safe driving sessions. These may be conducted on periodical basis and tests could be taken just to make sure students take them seriously.

Some of us might feel that what is the need of providing an lecture on some topic for which a person is not even eligible (also this is not as debatable as sex education .... which for some of us is unacceptable at these ages) but I believe the real meaning of education is not just cramming the books and puking them on the answer sheets to get high scores, a person really needs to understand how can he improve or help the current system based on his knowledge.

An educated child can teach/correct his/her so called "uneducated" parents/relatives when they take them along on a drive. These students will grow up to be more responsible drivers and help us in spreading the correct message.
