Wolfram|Alpha - Dynamic Compuatations

Wolfram|Alpha introduces a fundamentally new way to get knowledge and answers—
not by searching the web, but by doing dynamic computations based on a vast collection of built-in data, algorithms, and methods

Type a question and it interprets and tries to answer by dynamic computations….. amazing

It works by using its vast store of expert-
level knowledge to compute answers to questions you ask

Wikileaks - New Buzz word....

Its everywhere now..... talk about internet and it pops -up.... just a heads up about it...(from Wikipedia..)

WikiLeaks is an international new media non-profit organisation that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press. Within a year of its launch, the site claimed a database that had grown to more than 1.2 million documents. The organisation has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the United States, Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. The Guardian newspaper describes Julian Assange, an Australian Internet activist, as its director.

Dumping waste.... Polluting Environment...

An empty plot near Hotel Viva Inn at Chandani chowk Pune (near my society in Bavdhan ) has been converted to a dumping ground by the owner itself... Different types of waste materials including hazardous industrial waste is being dumped and burned. The plot is kept barren (even if it requires burning some vegetation periodically..) I am not sure if PMC or any other organisation is aware of these activities....!!! Is someone listening???

Maut tu ek kavita hai…

A nice and philosophical poem from Anand Movie.....

Maut tu ek kavita hai ..
mujhase ek kavita ka vaadaa hai milegi mujhako ..

dubati nabzon mein jab dard ko neend aane lage
zard saa cheharaa liye chaand ufak tak pahunche

------------
O death! You’re like poetry
And I’ve been promised by a poem, that it shall be mine
As the pulse (of life) recedes, the pain & suffering go to (an eternal) sleep
And a yellowish (young) moon starts to rise and reach its zenith
The day is yet to sink in water, as the night waits, nigh, to the shore
It’s not dark, it’s not bright
it’s neither midnight nor high noon
And as the body loses material, the free soul gets seeped with (fresh) air
The poem has (fulfilled the) promise of being mine!

Change the way you think about driving

Looking at the current traffic situation in Pune , my feeling is that there is a need to have some checks on how everyone is getiing the driving licences and if they really know the meaning of "driving a vehicle".
The way some motorist drive vehicles(Specially two wheelers, it looks more like racing/flying then plain simple driving)
Earlier I thought that overtaking from left is actually because the roads are really narrow and in case you are overtaking from right the vehicle from other side may hit you (Even I came across this situation many times...) Then came the real eye-opener... when driving on a wide (real wide) road and having plenty of space on my right, I was overtaken by some bikers, i knew its not a limitation but rules are slightly different here.... :-)
The incidences are many and it may feel comical but in the end there is really a need for education.

I am aware that these so called "educated adults" can not be tought for these lessons and even if you teach them "its difficult to improve a perfectionist" (as the saying goes..)

The real and one practical solution is to provide this education in schools (primary and secondary levels). By having a curriculam/subject/class for the driving/safe driving sessions. These may be conducted on periodical basis and tests could be taken just to make sure students take them seriously.

Some of us might feel that what is the need of providing an lecture on some topic for which a person is not even eligible (also this is not as debatable as sex education .... which for some of us is unacceptable at these ages) but I believe the real meaning of education is not just cramming the books and puking them on the answer sheets to get high scores, a person really needs to understand how can he improve or help the current system based on his knowledge.

An educated child can teach/correct his/her so called "uneducated" parents/relatives when they take them along on a drive. These students will grow up to be more responsible drivers and help us in spreading the correct message.

Prague (Praha) - Czech Republic

Visited Prague today.... Its the capital of Czech republic and around 300 Kms from Vienna (Austria). We hired and tour cab and went via road. On the way visited a duty free store on Czech border.
Main Places to visit are Prague Castle, Charles bridge... etc..

My Vienna Trip

Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria and also one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city and almost the largest city in Austria....

Since I am presently staying in the older part of Vienna, and so able to have a feel of their typical old and still better architecture..... (look at some of the photos below)

Schonburn Palace is also one of the places we visited last weekend

Usage share, in web browser statistics, is the percentage of visitors to a group of web sites that use a particular browser. For example, when it is said that Internet Explorer has x% usage share, it means that some version of Internet Explorer is used by x% of visitors that visit a given set of sites. Typically, the user agent string is used to identify which browser a visitor is using. The concept of browser percentages for the Web audience in general is sometimes called browser penetration.

Although everyone has choice to use browser of their choice, I personally feel that most of the net users are not so computer savvy and know the benefits of using other better browsers like Firefox.
Since most of the users are windows users and get IE for free, they are bound to use the browser, resulting in the statistics like the one above.

I am using Firefox since last 4 years now and find it no less than IE, in fact its the one browser which revolutionized browser concepts in a way.

Its free, fast, secure and very customizable web browser.

Tips for enriched life

A nice mail from somebody I would like to share with you all......
There are some tips on how you can maintain and improve upon certain aspects like Health, Personality ect..
Nice tips....

Health:
1.       Drink plenty of water.
2.       Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3.       Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4.       Live with the 3 E's -- Energy,  Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5..       Make time to practice meditation, yoga, and prayer.
6.       Play more games.
7.       Read more books than you did in 2008.
8.       Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9.       Sleep for 7 hours.
10.    Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:

11.    Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12.    Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15.    Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16.    Dream more while you are awake.
17.    Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

19.    Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20.    Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21.    No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22.    Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23.    Smile and laugh more.
24.    You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:

26.    Each day give something good to others.
27.    Forgive everyone for everything.
28.    Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29.    Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30.    What other people think of you is none of your business.
31.    Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:

32.    Do the right thing!
33.    Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34.    GOD heals everything.
35.    However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36.    No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37.    The best is yet to come.
38.    When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39.    Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.
